Everything there is to know about Hannah Phillips

Hannah Phillips, mjp Books

  • Above is a reasonable representation or approximation of my typical daily appearance. Maybe without the lipstick, because, you know, when you're wearing a COVID mask everywhere, why bother?
  • I was born in 1960. I have not yet died.
  • Previously I was Michael Phillips, but that name has never quite fit me. A lot of things never fit me, so now I am Hannah.
  • Unexpected bonus: Hannah is a palindrome. Now I'm the same coming and going.
  • I'm not Michael anymore, but I'm not changing the name of this website or the name on the existing books and other writing. Michael Phillips wrote those, and that won't ever change.
  • I am 6 feet tall in heels, but walking around in heels isn't all it's cracked up to be. So barefoot, or in comfortable flats, I am 5' 9".
  • My partner is an artist.
  • After 35 years in Los Angeles I moved to Joshua Tree. I hope to stay here for the next 35 years.
  • I hope to live another 35 years.
  • I work for an internet company, soon you will too.
  • The hair on my head grows at an almost freakish rate.
  • I started a podcast for no reason, and continue to do it for no reason.
  • I once walked into Libya from neighboring Tunisia. No one tried to kill me, but it was a long time ago.
  • Sometimes I choke on my own saliva, like a baby that's just learning how swallowing works.
  • I know all the words to every song. With the exception of the 504,734,889,001 songs that have been recorded since about 1979 or 1980.
